The attentive, personable service, as praised consistently by diners like Racquel Swofford and Adrian M., creates a warm, inviting environment where guests feel genuinely cared for—whether it’s a special occasion or a relaxed meal out.
Patrons frequently commend the kitchen’s ability to perfectly blacken their fish, a local favorite technique that infuses the dishes with smoky, well-balanced spices without overpowering the natural flavors. From the fantastic crab cakes to the tangy Bang Bang Shrimp, every dish brims with freshness and passion. The friendly staff, including stellar servers like Alex and Stephanie, add a personal touch that elevates the overall experience.
Whether you’re craving the comfort of a crispy, golden chicken fried steak or the zest and freshness of Gulf seafood prepared with care, Nate’s Westend Seafood & Steaks stands out as a top choice on the Galveston West End. Its dedication to quality, flavor, and genuine hospitality makes it far more than just a meal—it’s a place that invites you to unwind, indulge, and savor each bite with a sense of belonging.
Went to Nate’s again today and I’m very impressed, as per usual. Brought my friend from Houston and the food, drinks, and service were on point. Totally recommend to anyone in the area. Outdoor sitting area was clean and had a great atmosphere. Our server Alex was phenomenal, very helpful and personable! 10/10.
This place is excellent doesn’t deserve the negative reviews. I had the fish special, it was really good. They really know how to blacken fish. My wife got the country fried steak everyone recommends and it was amazing. I bet all their fried food is incredible. Check this place out.

We were visiting nearby for Easter and came across this place. For the appetizer, we ordered Bang Bang Shrimp and let me tell you they was AMAZING. The sauce was sweet but had a slight tang as well. For the entrees we ordered Fish N Chips, a Philly Cheese Steak, and a Chicken Sandwich. Overall, the food and service was very highly quality and we thoroughly enjoyed dining here. PS April was wonderful!
This place is great, I've never had bad or slow service and the food is really good. They have a great chef. Obviously the Chicken Fried Steak is excellent. I'm always on a diet so I love the Blackend Chicken Caesar Salad. Don't believe all the bad reviews. Nates is way better than the marina, probably the best seafood on the west end.
We had a decent time at lunch. Fresh food; reasonable portions at beachfront prices (somewhat high, but there's not a lot of competition). Bright setting. Friendly staff, but irritating mistakes on our orders. I'd still go back if staying in the area.
